Mixing fruit and vegetable in juices is a widely accepted practice, but fruit and vegetable smoothies are not as common. The truth is that not all the fruit and vegetable combinations are appealing and you have to use your imagination and experiment a bit to get them taste right. Spicy Raw Sun Dried Crackers

Like most raw foodies I love freshly made juices and cannot imagine my life without my Breville juicer. But every time I make a juice I feel bad about wasting so much fruit and vegetable pulp. Spicy raw sun dried carrot flax tomato crackers Although the pulp is a wonderful enrichment for the compost pile, I always thought of a better way to use it. I usually save some pulp for smoothies, raw soups, dips and desserts. Last weekend, however, I "manufactured" wonderful raw crackers and even more wonderful bread spread. They both taste like summer! I must admit that it took a little work to make the crackers, but it was fun. And since the weather was magnificent I decided not to use a dehydrator, but to dry them in the sun. Hello December! Let's have a healthy start and take the Celery Juice Challenge. The idea is very simple. All one has to do is to drink at least 16 ounces of freshly made, pure celery juice on empty stomach, first thing in the morning, for a week or two, or as long as necessary for the body to start healing. The idea for the Celery Juice Challenge comes form Anthony William who, many years ago, introduced the practice of celery juice drinking to countless people struggling from chronic ailments and auto immune diseases, including eczema and psoriasis. Ingredients: 1 bunch organic celery (Apium graveolens var. dulce) Method: Wash and cut celery into manageable pieces. Run celery through the juicer. Refreshing Apple Carrot Juice with Lemon and Ginger

This is one of the most basic juice recipes. You can make this juice all year round as the ingredients are widely available independently of season. Ingredients: 2 large carrots 2 green apples (organic Granny Smith or similar) 1 inch chunk ginger 1 lemon Method: Wash and peel carrots. Wash apples. If your juicer is not strong enough you may want to cut the apples in halves and remove the seeds. Peel ginger. Peel lemon and cut in half. Turn on your juicer and begin juicing starting with carrots and ginger. Follow with citrus. Process apples in the end in order to prevent the oxidation. Green Dandy! - Delicious Dandelion Salad

Dandelion is one of those greens that you either love or can't stand. This wild weed is abundant even in urban areas and can be foraged from early spring till late summer and early fall. Make sure that you are foraging in areas distant from road traffic, railway or industrial zones. If you are lucky dandelion may be growing in your backyard. This is, namely, where I foraged mine. Ingredients: for the salad 1 bunch large dandelion greens 1 endive (optional) large cucumber, shaved into ribbons 2 green onions, cut into thin slices for the dressing 1 clove of garlic, minced 1 tsp Dijon mustard 1/4 cup virgin olive oil juice of 1/2 lemon, add more if needed pinch pink Himalayan salt freshly ground black pepper to taste Foraged Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) Method: Carefully wash and clean the dandelion greens.
