
This is a simple and very quick dish that actually does not even need a recipe. It can be served as an dessert or as an appetizer with just one slight variation. Both versions are delicious and worth trying.
Serves 4
Ingredients:
- 4-5 dragon fruits (pitayas) - at least two varieties
- freshly pressed juice of 2-3 limes
- handfull of fresh Thai basil leaves
- Thai basil blossoms, if available
- 2 fresh bird's eye chili peppers, sliced (optional)
Method:
- Wash the fruit and remove the peel.
- Cut the peeled pitayas into wedges. Arrange the wedges on small plates.
- Pour the lime juice over the fruit wedges. Garnish with Thai basil leaves, basil blossoms and thinly sliced chili, if using. Skip the chili if you intend to serve this salad as dessert. Serve right away and enjoy it in good company.
