I am making my spooky ghost salad this year again and decided to serve it with a fiery pomegranate vinaigrette. I used freshly pressed pomegranate juice, a pretty messy affair but such a fun.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup freshly pressed pomegranate juice
- 1/2 cup virgin olive oil
- 1 Tbsp hot, homemade ghost pepper infused moringa oil
- 1 Tbsp homemade fire cider oxymel
- 1 tsp freshly pressed lemon juice
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
- 1/2 tsp raw honey (optional)
- 1/4 tsp pink Himalayan salt to balance the flavors
Method:
- Whisk the vinaigrette in a mixing bowl. Adjust the taste to your personal liking.
- Pour the dressing into decorative flasks or bottles, and make them part of your Halloween buffet decoration. If dressing separates, simply shake the flasks before serving. Enjoy in good company!
Tip: In this recipe I used homemade ghost chili pepper infused virgin moringa oil and homemade fire cider oxymel. I realize that these are rare ingredients. Alternatively, you can use any hot pepper - dried hot pepper flakes or fresh hot chili pepper of your choice instead of the ghost pepper oil, and dark aged balsamic vinegar with a little raw honey instead of the fire cider oxymel. Use a blender to make the dressing, if needed.
Wishing everyone a very spooky Halloween - in radiant heath, passionately raw - Dominique
