Earth Day Smoothie

What a gorgeous day today! Perfect weather for the Earth Day activities. A nutritious purple smoothie sounds like a good idea this morning. Make a large batch, sip slowly and reflect on the most burning issue that concerns us all - the fate and future of our planet.

The color purple is linked to imagination and spirituality. It is associated with the crown chakra or the energy center located the top of the head. Known as Sahasrara, this chakra is a seat of cosmic consciousness. It allows us to open up to what lies beyond our personal preoccupations.

As humanity, we all need to look at things from the planetary perspective. The climate change debate, shrinking habitats of many species, scandalous waste of resources, pollution, deforestation, potable water shortage, and ever growing mountains of garbage, are problems that have to be addresses now and solved quickly.

We cannot wait for politicians to pass laws or for the industry to somehow catch up with the eco trend. We are all responsible for our actions. The change begins with us.

Whether you embrace the zero waste lifestyle, practice veganism, grow your own food, or simply buy organic produce and products, you are already doing your share. Spread the word and help others to modify their daily behavior. As consumers we have enormous power. Let your local council and businesses know. Demand change. Earth Day is a perfect moment to do so.
